NEW SUFFOLK CHILDREN'S CHOIR

Craig Knapp, musical director of the MYO Nassau Treble Choir, teacher in Rocky Point, and current president of SCMEA (Suffolk Co. Music Educators Association) has begun to work his musical magic in Suffolk County this year with the debut of the Suffolk Children's Choir. For it's first season, the Choir will include singers in Fourth Grade through Eighth Grade. As the ensemble grows in numbers, plans are to have a Fourth through Sixth Grade Choir and a Seventh/Eighth Grade Choir, as MYO has done in Nassau County.

Concerts by the Suffolk MYO Children's Choir will be held at Sachem East HS (Nov. 15 & March 7), the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City (May 23) and Carnegie Hall in NYC (June 5). Singers between 4th and 8th Grade are invited to audition throughout the year. There is no NYSSMA level completion requirement to join.
