Sarah MirroTo be a member of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra is to be a part of something very special.  It is a privilege to be surrounded by so many talented and kind students, as well as adults, each week.  I couldn’t think of any better way to spend my Thursday nights than being at MYO choir rehearsal.  The musical selections are always fun and challenging, which has helped us all progress and grow as musicians.  Having been in both MYO’s Suffolk Treble Choir and Concert Choir, I have many fond memories from the past several years.  From the many friendships I have developed, to the wonderful music halls we have performed in, the opportunities at MYO have been amazing.  Of the many wonderful experiences over the years, for me, the most memorable would have to be the feeling of awe as I stepped onto the stage at Carnegie Hall for the very first time.  Seeing that giant chandelier and rounded balcony emerge as I passed through the stage doors was a life changing moment for me musically.  I look forward to continuing next year with MYO’s Suffolk Youth Chorale and I will surely bring with me all that I have learned from both Mr. Knapp and Ms. Dominick.  Thank you MYO for all you do for us!
