AUDITION FOR 2026-2027

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York: Choral and Orchestral Programs!

Video auditions for our 2026-2027 MYO Choirs and Orchestras open April 1 and close June 15, 2026.

Returning 2025-2026 MYO members do not need to complete the new member audition form as you will be contacted directly by the MYO Office regarding placement in the 2026-2027 MYO ensembles by July 1, 2026.

ELIGIBILITY

In order to participate in MYO:

  • Applicants should be in school grades 4-12 (or equivalent if homeschooled)
  • A video audition is required to be considered for placement in a MYO Ensemble
  • Instrumentalists are required to play at a NYSSMA level 4 or higher
  • There is no minimum NYSSMA level for the Treble Choirs, Concert Choir, Nassau Lower Voices, Suffolk Senior Treble Choir, and Suffolk Symphonic Choir
  • Nassau Senior Treble Choir and Chamber Chorale vocalists are expected to sing at a NYSSMA level 5 or higher
