Christian Cang-cuesta
Nassau Rehearsal Supervisor
Christian Cang-cuesta is Director of Music at both Church of Our Saviour and Temple Israel in Lawrence, NY. At both places of worship, he leads the congregation on both piano and organ, and he collaborates with the religious leaders to invite all to experience the comfort and the majesty of the divine through sound.
On the secular end, he also helps produce concerts, recordings, and new music for the British music company, Harmonicham Productions, LLP with his close collaborator and best friend, English composer Tristan Latchford.
Prior to his work, Christian graduated from both Peabody Conservatory (BMus, MMus in Organ Performance) and the Krieger School of Arts (BA in Writing Seminars) of Johns Hopkins University. During his time in Baltimore, he was also organ scholar for his professor at Christ Lutheran Church Inner Harbor as well as the instrumentalist for the Reform Jewish services at the Johns Hopkins Hillel.
Having been raised on Long Island, Christian was also organist of Good Shepherd Lutheran in Plainview, NY and valedictorian of his high school before heading off to university. Outside of his employment, Christian enjoys consuming and critiquing every media he can get his hands on, creating videos, going on park strolls, delighting in conversation, writing poetry and letters, reading in other languages (such as French and Biblical Hebrew), and learning more musical instruments (such as the harp and guitar).
Having played violin under the batons of Maestros Ho, Koppeis, and Stickley from 2012-2019, Christian is looking forward to helping out as a rehearsal supervisor with his return to Long Island!
