Executive Liaison

Anissa Arnold, Executive Liaison at The Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York, has been active in music education since 1992 and is currently the Director of Music and Performing Arts in the Herricks School District. At Herricks since 2001, Anissa has taught in both the High School and Middle School. She has been the faculty advisor of the very active Herricks Tri-M Music Honor Society since 2002. The Herricks Junior and Senior Tri-M chapters were named “International Chapter of the Year” several times, most recently in 2018 and has also participated in All Eastern and National conferences. Ms. Arnold also established the first student chapter of ASTA on Long Island. Ms. Arnold has recently served as President of Nassau NYSCAME, LISFA, and NMEA. She has served as NYSSMA Zone Rep., and Tri-M State and Eastern Division Chairperson. While holding these positions, she has been successful developed many new and exciting programs for the music students and music educators in the county. Currently, Ms. Arnold is currently immediate Past President of Nassau NYSCAME and continues to hold positions in NMEA and other organizations. She is also a former conductor of the MYO Nassau String Ensemble. A Long Island native, Ms. Arnold, graduated from the Crane School of Music with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a concentration in Viola followed by a Masters in Music from Stony Brook and a degree in Administration and Supervision from Queens College. Ms. Arnold is thrilled to be a member of the MYO family since 1997.
