Nana Aomori, Nassau Flute Choir (MYO)Nana Aomori | Nassau Flute Choir

Nana Aomori is a freelance musician and teacher residing in New York. While residing in Tokyo, Japan, she was principal flutist with the Yokohama Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Funf Woodwind Quintet. Ms. Aomori won the NEC Honors Chamber Music competition for two consecutive years and was appointed artist-in-residence at the Virginia Arts Festival. As an educator, she has presented clinics and master classes for young flutists, has been invited to work with musicians in the El Sistema Music Program in Venezuela, and has collaborated with the New York Philharmonic Educational Department. She is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music in Flute performance studying with Jeanne Baxtresser and Fenwick Smith. Later, she received her Master of Music in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory of Music. Ms. Aomori is the co-founder of Music Beyond, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that trains musicians to become music teachers in developing countries.
