Audition Considerations

THINGS TO CONSIDER BEFORE AUDITIONING

Attendance at MYO rehearsals and concerts is crucial to the success and musical growth of each ensemble and members must make a serious, personal commitment to attend all MYO events prior to joining. The following rehearsal information is from 2021-2022 and is subject to change in 2022-2023 based on venue availability.

Nassau Concert Choir, Nassau Lower Voices, and Nassau Senior Treble Choir rehearse at the First Presbyterian Church of Oyster Bay on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

The Nassau Chamber Chorale rehearses at the MYO Office on Monday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM, and the Nassau Treble Choir rehearses at the MYO Office on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM – 8:45 PM.

The Nassau String Orchestra rehearses at Christ Church Episcopal Manhasset on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM.

The Nassau Concert Orchestra rehearses at Church of Our Saviour Lutheran Manhasset on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM.

The Nassau Symphony Orchestra rehearses at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Glen Cove on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM.

The Nassau Principal Orchestra rehearses at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Sea Cliff on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM.

 

The Suffolk MYO ensembles rehearse at Patchogue-Medford High School (Suffolk Symphony and Principal Orchestras on Monday evenings), Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook (Suffolk String Orchestra on Thursday evenings) and at Oakdale-Bohemia Middle School (Suffolk Choirs on Thursday evenings) from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM*. (*Actual end-time varies by ensemble)
