Scott Davis MYO Bass AlumScott Davis, son of MYO Board Treasurer Ken Davis, is from Plainview, New York and started playing the bass at age 9. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with James VanDemark, and a Master of Music from Indiana University, where he studied with Kurt Muroki. His other teachers include Timothy Cobb, Jeremy McCoy, Leigh Mesh, Owen Lee, and Bruce Bransby. Scott has previously attended the Round Top Festival Institute, the Chautauqua Music Festival, and Music Academy International in Italy. He has been a finalist in the bass concerto competition at Indiana University and a runner-up twice in the bass concerto competition at Eastman. Outside of music, Scott is a certified yoga instructor and is currently training for his second full marathon. This fall, Scott will pursue a Professional Performance Certificate at Lynn University on a full scholarship, where he will once more study with Timothy Cobb.
