MYO has an immediate requirement for a full time Music Librarian and Media Specialist.

Music Librarian Responsibilities

Responsible for all music orders (new, rental, and borrowed)
Advise Music Directors on repertoire choice(s) and MYO repertoire history
Prepare, assign, and distribute music for all MYO Music Directors, members, coaches, and guest performers for all events (rehearsals, sectionals, concerts, and auditions)
Collect music and track missing parts as needed
Oversee production and maintenance of MYO physical and digital music libraries (including recorded audio files)
Create program listings for concert programs

Concert and Rehearsal Production
Create rehearsal and performance set-up diagrams for all orchestras and choirs
Create the Concert Production Schedule for all major performances
Determine dress rehearsal length and concert timings based on the concert venue requirements
Manage backstage production on concert days
Attend rehearsals on occasion and assist Music Directors as necessary
Assist with concert production while on tour

Media Specialist Responsibilities

Concert Program Advertisements
Maintain advertiser database for MYO Concert Program Advertisements
Facilitate renewals with current advertisers
Research new opportunities for ad partnerships with local businesses

Website and Charms Accounts (www.myo.org)
Edit and format content on each section of the website
Upload documents and other media files to Charms accounts for member use
Create all online forms with JotForm
HTML/CSS experience a plus

MYO Box Office Site (PatronManager)
Manage ticketing site (www.patrontechnology.com / www.salesforce.com)
Create and maintain event listings and details

General Content Editor and Publisher
Edit and format documents, images, and other media

General MYO Responsibilities

Keep informed of all MYO policies, practices, news, and activities
Aid in the organization and execution of large-scale projects and events
Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to MYO Intern(s)
Manage customer relations by email and phone, and in person at MYO events
Manage library email account, and respond to any phone calls, emails, and other correspondence
Have working knowledge of all programs and devices associated with MYO record keeping, dynamic databases, and material productions
Active interest and participation in promoting MYO

General Expectations

Monday – Friday regular office hours
Expect to work occasionally on weekends and occasional evenings as concerts, rehearsals and meetings require (approximately 10 – 12 weekends per year, 12 – 15 on tour years)
Conduct yourself professionally at all times
Must have a car for travelling to and from MYO office, rehearsal sites, and concert sites


One year of successful office administrative experience
Customer relations experience

Required Skills

A self-starter with excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail required
Seasoned time management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and be able to juggle many projects simultaneously
Strong computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Social Media acumen
Comfortable working in multiple databases and coordinating information
Able to lift instruments, chairs, music stands, and boxes of MYO merchandise


Applicants with a music degree (education, performance, or administration) are preferred
HTML/CSS experience a plus
Choral or orchestral experience with children
Proactive and creative in seeking out solutions to challenges that arise with each project
